May stripers on the Delaware River

May has kicked off like a fire storm. Stripers were every where even with low water temperatures, high water, and ultra fast flow.  As we move to the weekend the Delaware River will lose some heat on the river with a cold front moving through on mother’s day. We will see how this affects the striped bass. I have a feeling the fish are on spawn right now which makes it ultra tough to catch them.

The great thing about a cold spring is the big fish will hang out a lot longer and the striped bass season in the Delaware River will be extended 2-3 weeks put us well into mid June and into July as we move up the river to upper Bucks.

Fishing has been very solid for skilled anglers worth 35 pound fish being caught and several pot belly stripers in the mid 20’s.

We have some great dates open in early June.
