Super hot day and Super Hot Smallmouth Bite, Delaware River

Vincent and Joseph came out for a 6 hour trip of Smallmouth bass fishing and cat fishing for Vincent's Birthday, a surprise gift from his wife. Yesterday was the hottest day of this summer so far reaching 95 degrees. The day started out with a really tough early morning bite for smallmouth bass but the catfish bite and big catfish on 4 pound test was hot and heavy. Landing over 5 fat catfish on light tackle. Then as the day got hotter and the sun higher, the smallmouth bite really turned on. We caught well over 20 fish in 2.5 hours from 10:30-1:00. This time frame is when most people think you can't catch smallmouth bass but we crushed them!
