Delaware River Fishing Report

Delaware River Fishing Report for Striped bass aka Stripers, American Shad, Smallmouth Bass, Flatheads Catfish, Snakeheads and other Species. We report specifically on the Philadelphia Bucks County, Mercer County, Hunterdon Country areas. We provide guided fishing trips on the Delaware river.

American Shad and Striped Bass Update for March 21st on the Delaware River. The cold evenings have kept the Delaware river Temperature at 45 degrees. The American Shad run is off to a very very slow start. The Striped Bass run has started way down south around the Salem area but it is by no means going off. A few 34 inch stripers have been caught.

We have a lot of warm nights, warm days, and warm rain coming. It should start to shape to be a great spring season. The Suckers and Gizzard Shads are not in the local creeks, signalling a late spring.

My best estimation for the area I fish, A few big fish and mid sized fish early April and by mid-April for solid consistant action on striped bass. Begining of April for the American Shad run. If your booking fishing trips on the Delaware River for the American Shad or Striped Bass run plan accordingly.

Tight Lines,
