The Best Smallmouth Bass Bite on the Delaware River in 5 Years

The last week I fished 6 out of 7 days and it was and still is the best bite I have seen in 5 years. We caught well over 180 smallmouth bass, stripers, walleye, and catfish this week. Some trips saw as many as 40 fish in 4 hours of fishing other saw 30 fish with another 25 bites or hook ups.
When is the bite the best? We have been fishing early morning 6:00-6:30 am and off by 10:30 for our 4 hour trips and our 6 hour trips were off by 12:00-12:30. The bite has been great until about 1:00. Not that we are not catching fish after 1:00 but the quantity defiantly goes down. Now on cooler days that don't get over 85 degrees all day we seem to be doing well. Its the hot days that are over 85 degrees with the sun blazing where the bite peters off.
If want to catch smallmouth bass and a lot of them now is the time to go fishing.
Why spend the money to go blue fishing when were catching bigger fish in the river?
Why go flounder fishing when you can't even find a keeper?
